Nan Tien Temple

Nan Tien Temple – Wollongong

Nan Tien Temple which carry the meaning by “Southern Heaven Temple” is a Buddhist Temple complex located in Berkeley on the southern outskirts of the Australian city of Wollongong, about 80 km south of Sydney. It is one of the branch temples of the Taiwanese Fo Guang Shan Buddhist order, founded in 1967 by Hsing Yun,  which has over 120 branches worldwide. The temple is one of the largest Buddhist temples in the southern hemisphere, completed in 1995 (source wiki).

It was Chinese new Year Week 2018 and we decided to came to this temple to visit. There’s many people visiting on weekend though the tour buses and the car park was full when we arrives but we manage to find a parking anyway. Please scroll down to see the photo’s.

The area is so big so make sure you are fit to walk. There is a reputable vegetarian restaurant here but we did not manage to eat there because too many people was queuing and we do not want to wait. This is a good place to visit especially if you’re a Buddhist, you can  pray here.

Wollongong Short Visit

Wollongong – Light House

A 2 hour drive from Sydney to come here is really worth it, I came here last 2 years and it’s so good to be back! The day was sunny, warm and windy.

I bought a mango-hazelnut ice-cream from the ice-cream van but the taste is just normal. Its the only vehicle that sell drinks and dessert there at the time.

Hogs Parramatta :

Hello guys, hows Mondays treating you all? Today i would like to share on my first experience dined at Hogs.

It was said way back in 1989 the first Hogs was opened in Airlie Beach in North Queensland (pretty long time ago). They also claimed for the passions for good food and selections of the finest and fresh produced for the customers. Thus, for 29th years this year they have already runs more than 80 restaurants.

Upon entering the restaurant, I remembered the decor in HRC, chillis as well as Bubba Gum! Classy!

We ordered Lychee mocktail and cappuccino. I really love these drinks – exceptional.

For the food I ordered steak and garlic prawns ( Char-grilled sirloin steak topped with garlic prawns and honey mustard sauce + fresh vegetables + Hog Tail Fries). I rate this meal as 8/10 as the steak is a bit chewy. The other menu my partner choose is beacon beef burger + Hog Tails Fries. Its tasty too.

Overall we think that this is a good place to have lunch and dinner. There’s so much crowd at 8pm and its better to get here early as the waiting after ordering is pretty long.

There’s a lunch treat $9.90 on weekdays as well as you may see in the photo below. You may dine here and wont break your pocket!

Thanks for reading. Maybe a comment on where else you guys love to have a nice dinner?

TooFaced Better Than Sex Mascara

Hello gorgeous! Ive seen lots of review on @toofaced Better than Sex Mascara; said thats its very goood

So here are my reviews:

I normally will get the mini size for trial.

The tiffany blue packaging is beautiful , 4.8g.

Upon opening the packaging, I’m surprised on how big is the brush applicator. For any eye product i think its quite big, and kinda hard to spread evenly among the lashes.

Better_Than_Sex_Mascarra
Better_Than_Sex_Mascara

After applying to my eyelashes, I have to wait for a long time for it to dry and have to switch on the fan to dry the lashes.  I also use a curler after and reapply again carefully. Some smudges though, because the wand is too big.

Better_Than_Sex_Mascarra
Better_Than_Sex_Mascara

The wand is heavy and not practical. But it does make the lashes thicker and longer.

After a long day the fall out is minimal and I don’t actually look like panda.

The photo below is my lashes after 2 coating of the mascara. Lengthy and thick but doesn’t reach the corner of the eyes.

Will I repurchase? No, because there is much better one, and cheaper for the same price.

How about you girls? Have you try?

Thanks for reading, feel free to comment. XOXO

Korean BBQ at Jang Ta Bal

Had charcoal bbq at Jang Ta Bal at Strathfield last week. The place is pack and a bit secluded. The service is quick but you have to wait for 10 mins for a table a there’s crowd at dinner time.

Here, they don’t use electric cooker@ induction but charcoal.

Jang_Ta_Bal_KoreanBBQ

They served 7 types of cold dishes, i only like the kimchi; as usual.

Jang_Ta_Bal_KoreanBBQ

We ordered the mix meat set consists of pork, chicken and wagyu. I love the wagyu; as always.

Jang_Ta_Bal_KoreanBBQ

Its not fast to cook with charcoal so you have to be a little bit more patient. Cook the thicker meat in the middle of the grill as the heat is stronger.

Overall my rate for the food here is 5/10. Wont be coming back.

Palm Beach and Whale Beach Outing

Last weekend we planed on going fishing at Palm Beach at the Northern Beaches. So, we went early so we could catch the evening views. It was lovely evening and at 6.30pm it was still sunny and warm.

Palm_Beach

There is still many locals having picnics and swimming at the time.

Palm_Beach

Not to mentions all the nice boats park at the deeper side of the water. The water is calm here so its safe to swim. By the way this was my second time coming here but before was already dark so no nice views like this.

Palm_Beach

We didn’t notice this sign before. But after consult the land_based_fishing group in fb they said its ok to fish here as long as you clean up the mess.

We decided to look for other places to fish though since we are not so sure if its really okay to fish in Palm Beach. So we went to this Whale Beach it was on the other side of the land, just Waze for it if you have doubt. After a long haul to look for this beach we finally arrived. Whale beach is wide and the sand is golden brown colour (very unique). The waves is very strong and we saw other people fishing there as well.

Its hard to fish here, even with heavy sinker and fishing line doesn’t sink properly and keep coming back to the beach. Ive told my partner to get a proper gear as beach fishing isn’t as easy as the fishing on the wharf, especially the one with super strong waves hehe… Next time perhaps.

Whale_Beach

Lucky we brought some home cook canton fried noodles. We had dinner on the beach while watching the waves and sunsets.

Palm_Beach

Yup, thats Palm Beach Wharf night view. we came back to Palm Beach at 9pm because its safer here. We cast our lines from the beach and not from the wharf; technically legal =). Didn’t catch any fish though, quiet night. Even the people thats on the wharfs seems to catch nothing that night.

The Heritage Bakery – Milton

The Heritage Bakery – On our way to Ulladulla, we saw this bakery on a very old building. It was right next to the traffic light and many people were seen having a great time in the bakery’s cafe’s. Thus, i decided we must drop by to see if there is any good in there.

This Bakery was known to be established in 2003 in a town called Milton; one of the oldest historical building of the region. I guess it must have been since the 1870 as in the building photo.

Some of the cakes & pastries has no names.

This bakery does not accept cash transaction. So if you have to cards, you wont be able to make a purchase. I do love the way they does this in a very ancient building though – very advanced if i may say; despite on how this building look =).

Another interesting thing is if you bring your own cup, you get 50% off for the coffee. We didn’t buy any coffee at the time.

Bought these ( empty burger buns, Heritage Steak Pie and no name cake). The Meat pie is one of the best I’ve tried so far apart from the home made sold in Jindabyne’s.

This cake is very delicious. Im sure there is a secret ingredients. The layers was top in cream (most likely custard) and the hard icing top is the only sweet thing on it. When you bite, make sure to bite from top to bottom, the only way to get the full taste! Awesome one!
