Burgers and Chicken

Oporto Restaurant

Is the meal here consider fast food? Im not too sure, but considering how they prepared these meals more to like Nandos kind of Chicken? I think it is healthily grilled. For example like the meals in the photo below: for the grilled chicken sets there is bread, chips and rice while the grilled beef burger is compliments with chips and garlic sauce. The price? Its slightly more than KFC and Hungry Jacks but its worth a try. Its my first time too!

Thus, meals that cost less than 30$ for two, is definitely good for the pocket!

Max Brenner Chocolate Bar

Dessert Lover? You would love this.

I’ve seen this place but only got to check it out last week. The place is okay not very fancy and they sell chocolates in the cafes as well.

This is Melting chocolate Souffle. Similar to our volcano larva chocolate where when we cut, the larva melt out but this one it doesn’t because only a bit of it inside. But still, its nice and delicious because its not too sweet! It can be served with strawberry but i refused this time around.

Next is Cappuccino Chocolate. They Call this cup Kangaroo cup because theres a small compartment for the chocolate.. so when you sip the drink, the chocolate melt together in the sip,  =P interesting isn’t it!

Thats my Max Brenner Chocolate Bar first time experience and i hope they have something like Magnum though. *wink*

This restaurant have small table only can fit like 8 people. Most likely for takeaways or a very short time eating place especially considering Macquarie University students hang around here most of the time!

Nan Tien Temple

Nan Tien Temple – Wollongong

Nan Tien Temple which carry the meaning by “Southern Heaven Temple” is a Buddhist Temple complex located in Berkeley on the southern outskirts of the Australian city of Wollongong, about 80 km south of Sydney. It is one of the branch temples of the Taiwanese Fo Guang Shan Buddhist order, founded in 1967 by Hsing Yun,  which has over 120 branches worldwide. The temple is one of the largest Buddhist temples in the southern hemisphere, completed in 1995 (source wiki).

It was Chinese new Year Week 2018 and we decided to came to this temple to visit. There’s many people visiting on weekend though the tour buses and the car park was full when we arrives but we manage to find a parking anyway. Please scroll down to see the photo’s.

The area is so big so make sure you are fit to walk. There is a reputable vegetarian restaurant here but we did not manage to eat there because too many people was queuing and we do not want to wait. This is a good place to visit especially if you’re a Buddhist, you can  pray here.

Wollongong Short Visit

Wollongong – Light House

A 2 hour drive from Sydney to come here is really worth it, I came here last 2 years and it’s so good to be back! The day was sunny, warm and windy.

Korean BBQ at Jang Ta Bal

Had charcoal bbq at Jang Ta Bal at Strathfield last week. The place is pack and a bit secluded. The service is quick but you have to wait for 10 mins for a table a there’s crowd at dinner time.

Here, they don’t use electric cooker@ induction but charcoal.

They served 7 types of cold dishes, i only like the kimchi; as usual.

We ordered the mix meat set consists of pork, chicken and wagyu. I love the wagyu; as always.

Its not fast to cook with charcoal so you have to be a little bit more patient. Cook the thicker meat in the middle of the grill as the heat is stronger.

Overall my rate for the food here is 5/10. Wont be coming back.

Palm Beach and Whale Beach Outing

Last weekend we planed on going fishing at Palm Beach at the Northern Beaches. So, we went early so we could catch the evening views. It was lovely evening and at 6.30pm it was still sunny and warm.

Palm_Beach

There is still many locals having picnics and swimming at the time.

Not to mentions all the nice boats park at the deeper side of the water. The water is calm here so its safe to swim. By the way this was my second time coming here but before was already dark so no nice views like this.

We didn’t notice this sign before. But after consult the land_based_fishing group in fb they said its ok to fish here as long as you clean up the mess.

We decided to look for other places to fish though since we are not so sure if its really okay to fish in Palm Beach. So we went to this Whale Beach it was on the other side of the land, just Waze for it if you have doubt. After a long haul to look for this beach we finally arrived. Whale beach is wide and the sand is golden brown colour (very unique). The waves is very strong and we saw other people fishing there as well.

Its hard to fish here, even with heavy sinker and fishing line doesn’t sink properly and keep coming back to the beach. Ive told my partner to get a proper gear as beach fishing isn’t as easy as the fishing on the wharf, especially the one with super strong waves hehe… Next time perhaps.

Lucky we brought some home cook canton fried noodles. We had dinner on the beach while watching the waves and sunsets.

Yup, thats Palm Beach Wharf night view. we came back to Palm Beach at 9pm because its safer here. We cast our lines from the beach and not from the wharf; technically legal =). Didn’t catch any fish though, quiet night. Even the people thats on the wharfs seems to catch nothing that night.
